Ben Sfard, the Vice President of Engineering at Trace Genomics, is a seasoned executive with more than 15 years of experience in technical leadership and leading engineering teams. Having previously served as the CTO at DOTE in San Francisco, he led a team of 8 engineers, driving new features and ensuring swift execution with weekly public releases. Ben’s previous role as the VP of Engineering at SMULE involved overseeing a team of 40+ engineers and scientists, managing an $11M budget, and navigating the technological challenges of supporting millions of users worldwide and vast content creation. His educational background includes an M.S. in Computer Engineering and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University, and he is a certified Scrum Master. Ben is known for his impactful, collaborative, and transparent leadership style, focusing on building happy and engaged teams while fostering innovation and productivity.
